What the Samurai did with their swords, we do with our hands.

Gracie Jiu-Jitsu has proven itself time and time again to be the single best form of self-defense against a larger, stronger attacker.

History of Jiu-Jitsu

Jiu-Jitsu was originally from Japan and was taught to the Gracie family in Brazil by Japanese Diplomat named Esai Maeda. Helio Gracie, who was a small and very frail man, realized that he couldn't perform the techniques properly due to his lack of athleticism. He started modifying the techniques to be able to work for anyone, regardless of size and strength. This was the birth of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu or what is often referred to as BJJ (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu). Since then there have been thousands of new moves and techniques added to BJJ and it has become something of a national sport in Brazil. It's also the fastest growing martial art in the world and for good reason.

Jiu-Jitsu is personal efficiency to protect the weaker, which anyone can do. It is the force of leverage against brute force. - Helio Gracie
